Before moving to South Korea, I already had high hopes of visiting Japan on the reg. While the countries are indeed within a short proximity of one another, I’ve only managed to make one trip thus far this year. But what a delight it was. Continue Reading

Recollections En Route: Changing of the Seasons + Life Updates
Well, it’s Autumn here in South Korea. In fact, if temperature is any indication of the season, we are already on the edge of winter here in early November. Autumn is my absolute favorite season in the world. That is, with the exception of the holiday season in New York City. Regardless, as fate would have it, I’ve been stuck in bed, sick, for the past two weeks… And while admiring the leaves changing colors from the window in my small studio apartment is less than ideal, I’ll take what I can get. Continue Reading
Video: Visiting Singapore {My 30th Country}
Today I am sharing a vlog of my first {and only} visit to Singapore a couple months ago. Some highlights include Joo Chiat, the Gardens by the Bay, Cloud Forest, and Flower Dome. And, Singapore marked my 30th country to date, meaning I successfully accomplished my goal of visiting 30 countries before turning 30! Continue Reading
A Photo Diary: Singapore
Crazy Rich Asians only just entered movie theaters here in South Korea. Therefore, Gena and I immediately purchased tickets on opening weekend and had a few laughs. These laughs were completely independent from the rest of the audience sitting in silence {due to the humor of some jokes getting lost in translation}. For anyone that has watched an English movie in an Asian movie theater, you know what I’m talking about. Regardless, it was a spectacular film based in the one and only Singapore! Continue Reading
Video: 3 Days in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
This week, I had planned to film and upload an update video after 8 months of living in South Korea. Then my fur baby passed away {RIP to my little B} and filming sounded like the last thing I wanted to do. Instead, I decided to share my trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur was one of the most surprising destinations I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. Editing this vlog brought back so many positive memories and provided me with the best distraction. I hope you enjoy it! Continue Reading
Joo Chiat: The Most Instagrammable Neighborhood in Singapore
Ever since the Myspace days, I have been obsessed with photography {if we could even call it that} and photo editing. Back then it was a sad attempt at what I thought to be creative, original editing styles. In fact, for the longest time {including just a couple of years ago} my photos were over saturated, poorly framed, and unoriginal. While it can still be a struggle to create original takes on popular destinations, it’s refreshing to stumble upon {fairly} ‘new’ territory and let the creative juices flow. And yet that’s exactly what happened in Singapore when I ventured into the neighborhood of Joo Chiat. Continue Reading
10 Trendy Things to do in Singapore
As I arrived to Singapore, via bus from Malaysia, my eyes have never been wider. The only plausible way to describe my entrance would be Katniss Everdeen witnessing The Captial for the very first time. The contrast between the rough, dusty Malaysian countryside and the crisp, tidy, {basically deserted} streets of Singapore was astonishing. Continue Reading
40 Photos to Inspire you to Visit Kuala Lumpur
Photo diaries are some of my favorite blog posts to click on. They really provide you with an overall vibe of a destination from a unique perspective. Or, sometimes, a not so unique perspective. It’s true that this day in age so many bloggers and Instagrammers alike are constantly gaining inspiration from one another – sometimes to a fault. Continue Reading
Solo Travel to Malaysia: What I Would Do Differently
My first impressions after visiting my first Islamic country* went a lot like this: walk off the plane, hop on the subway, realize no one else is wearing anything that resembles a grey, sleeveless, jumpsuit, feel embarrassed, disembark the subway, enter the chaotic streets of Kuala Lumpur, and state out loud to absolutely no one, “Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Thailand anymore”. Or something like that. Continue Reading
Video: Thailand Vlog 2 {Island Hopping}
In my second Thailand vlog we head to the islands! Specifically, Railay, Koh Poda, and the Phi Phi Islands. Before we continue on with vlogs pertaining to Southeast Asia, I plan to upload a general ‘life update’ video next week. Watch this space for that. Continue Reading
