In early October I made my way back to Seoul for an extended weekend. Let’s be honest, I basically spent the entire weekend eating {as you will see}. Join me as I visit Myeongdong, Gangnam, and Yongma Land in my favorite city in Korea!

1 Day in Osaka: Osaka Highlights
With only 24 hours in Osaka, I knew I would only get a taste of what the city had to offer. That being said, I still managed to see a few of the highlights in Japans’ second largest metropolitan area. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by Osaka. Here is a run down on how I spent a day exploring the city.

With such a limited time in any given destination, it can be difficult to decide on an itinerary. Usually, I attempt to build an itinerary from scratch, but sometimes it’s easiest to leave it up to the blogosphere. I decided to follow Find Us Lost‘s itinerary from the original blog post: 24 Hours in Kyoto. I am an avid follower of Find Us Lost, and found this itinerary fit my needs perfectly. While I must admit transportation around Kyoto took a bit longer than anticipated, I was still able to fit the highlights in. Continue reading to see my photo diary of Kyoto.
Video: Kyoto + Osaka
For my second Japan vlog, I visited Kyoto and Osaka. After spending only one full day in each city, it was clear to me I was only scratching the surface. That being said, I was able to see many of the popular destinations. In Kyoto I witnessed Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the Gion District. In Osaka, I walked through Dotonbori and visited Osaka Castle. Catch up by watching my first Japan vlog here. Continue Reading
10 Off the Beaten Track Places to Visit in 2019
Is it too early to start thinking of 2019? No, I don’t believe it is my friends. December is upon us, meaning the new year is closer than we {read: I} can process. I’m so excited to draft my annual New Years Eve blog post, but the real anticipation comes with my travel plans for 2019. I thought I would include some ‘off the beaten’ path recommendations for any fellow travelers getting tired of seeing the same shit everywhere. Continue Reading
Yongma Land: Tips for Visiting Seoul’s Abandoned Amusement Park
One of the most Instagrammable places in Seoul, Yongma Land has become a photographers heaven over the years. Yongma Land originally opened in 1980 as a functioning amusement park. Eventually it closed down in 2011, leaving the entire park, and it’s rides, abandoned. Now a local business man runs the operation, allowing locals and tourists alike an opportunity to pose with the broken down rides. While a creepy, rusted amusement park might not sound appealing at first, I promise you it’s worth a visit. Continue Reading
Video: 3 Days in Tokyo, Japan
Last month I hopped across the pond from South Korea, and visited Japan for the very first time. I had anticipated this trip since arriving to Asia this past February. With only a few days in the country, I wanted to prioritize the majority of my time in Tokyo. Enjoy the first of two vlogs in Japan! Kyoto and Osaka are coming up next. Continue Reading
An Instagram Guide to Tokyo, Japan
I’m not going to lie to you, I had high expectations of Japan. And while those expectations fell a bit flat {more on that coming soon}, I truly enjoyed capturing this country through my camera lens. There are so many Instagrammable places in Japan, but especially in Tokyo. Continue Reading
Recollections En Route: What’s Good for the Seoul
It’s safe to say that my experience here in South Korea has been…a complex one. It’s been a year consisting of many different and connected parts. For once in my life I went through all four stages of culture shock: honeymoon, frustration, adjustment, and acceptance. My dear friend Ariel wrote about this earlier in the year, and it truly hit home with me. And after nine months of living in South Korea, I can confidently say I have reached the final stage. Video: Autumn in Daegu + Eating Live Octopus!
Well we are rounding week four of being sick here in Korea… Eventually I couldn’t handle it anymore and went to Seoul over this past weekend. Although it was one of the best weekends I’ve had here in Korea, you can imagine it didn’t help in the slightest in terms of getting better. So, once again I’m laying in bed with my tissues and tea. I thought it would be a good opportunity to gather random footage I’ve taken these past few months and put it all in a vlog. Continue Reading
