Because, I do.
And because the Beatles, London… see where I was going with that. Superb.
This last weekend we were gifted with a stunning forecast here in London. Temperatures reached 79 degrees fahrenheit. I know, what the…
So, what else do you do on a London Summer day but gather up your friends, head to the park, and open up a bottle of wine?
We indulged in fruit, cheese, crackers, the whole lot.
It was absolutely lovely.
I have been incredible lucky in terms of friends here in London. The list is not extremely long, but quality over quantity people. I have been able to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones that have become some of the closest people to me.
I hate to go all ‘Bachelor’ on you guys, but originally, I didn’t come here to meet friends. I welcomed the idea, of course. But it was not on the top of my priority list upon arrival. I was focused on a more soul searching, solo mission, type vibe.
But then I met this clown.
And from there my life in London became so full. Full of new friends, travels, and most importantly, laughter. I opened myself up to new opportunities and new relationships. And now I’m content and full.
And even though she is leaving me in two weeks, she left me with a lot of great people that I would have never met otherwise.
It is absolutely true what they say, that your memories you keep of a place, really start and end with the people that were by your side.
I won’t get emotional {yet}. But the tears will inevitably fall. So until then, I will be counting the moments, and not the days.
It’s okay though, Crystal and I will send a postcard from Paris.
Wow what a wonderful group of people!!! Also why does the blonde girl have breadsticks for arms..?
At least they are gluten-free breadsticks, gluten.
Such lovely pics Rachel! Nothing better than wine in the park with a dear friend or friends on a sunny day. For me the trick is not too much food, just gorgeous nibblies exactly as above. A full meal and you might give up on the wine and just want a little sleep in the sun! A tip from a photo perfectionist.. say your 9th photo here, if the photographer was kneeling down and looking slightly up at you, you could be right in the centre of the pic but also have those gorgeous trees in the background in all their glory. Blessings to you Rachel.
Appreciate the feedback Alex! And totally agree with your take on a good picnic! x
Wow, late is good Rachel, as it offers a chance to remind me..! What a glorious green this park this is. Fortunately not raining, as I understand usually happens in the UK! I mean to put my profile pic up here as soon as I can get round to working out how. Oh dear. Maybe a chance to check out more of your evidently extensive travels! Blessings, Alex, Sydney x
