BUCKINGHAM PALACE

En route to witness the famous Broadway performance ‘Wicked’, I couldn’t help but take a stroll to the grand palace itself to say ‘Hi’ to Liz. Just a short walk from Victoria station, Buckingham Palace was absolutely stunning on this sunny, London afternoon.

It felt good to get out on this lovely day and embrace my role as a tourist. Don’t get me wrong, it has been such a relaxing change of pace for me settling into a new semi-permanent routine; free from a four hour commute, a noticeable arch in my back from sitting in a cubicle for eight hours a day, and the many dollars spent on gas. But it has also been good for my soul to put myself back in the familiar position of being a visitor in a new country. I seem to have the best of both worlds at the moment. I do not feel the pressure of sightseeing and forcing myself to venture out when it is 32 degrees if I don’t want to. I have the luxury of staying a while. Not a long while, but long enough to choose when and where I want to spend my time.

I have yet to see Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Westminster Abbey, and the London Eye. God forbid I haven’t taken a picture in a red phone booth. But I am absolutely okay with that. You can expect all of the above, probably more than once, each with a blog post and millions of photos included.

I didn’t see the Queen this afternoon, but I am attending the Royal Ascot Races in June where I hope to catch a glimpse.

Cheerio for now!
