Over the last few years, I have slowly dipped my toes into the blogging world. It’s a big, big world with so many helpful travel sites offering tips and advice to any traveler, of any background. Solo travel, couples travel, traveling with children. I’ve even read an article titled, “My Top 5 Travel with Dogs Blogs”. This means there were far more than five “Travel with Dogs Blogs” created to allow this man to choose a Top 5. I mean, there is seriously something for everyone.
Personally, I have always been interested in ‘Female Travel’. Female travel incorporates solo travel, so I continue to check up on my favorite female bloggers in the blogosphere. I am essentially killing two birds with one stone.
I have complied a list of 9 female travel bloggers that you should already be following. All provide helpful advice, stunning images, and an honest writing style. I have written a snippet about each, should their websites not already capture your wanderlust heart.
World of Wanderlust – Speaking of wanderlust… Brooke of WOW truly made travel come to life for me. She is the first travel blogger I ever began following and the one I will always return to. Originally from Tazmania, Brooke bought a ticket to London shortly after graduating from University {sound familiar?}, and hasn’t looked back since. She has grown her blog to hundreds of thousands of readers worldwide, is the author to a number of books, and just recently opened a café inspired by her travels. She is the poster child for creating a successful career doing what she loves.
The Blonde Abroad – Kiersten is a fun-loving California girl who has taken the world by storm. The amount of awards this girl has received in honor of her blog is unbelievable {but totally justified in every way}. She has some of the most detailed travel guides and you can see how much effort she puts into her work. Her photos are always stunning. I will never understand how she stays so fit while traveling. And her love of In-N-Out bodes near and dear to my heart. The Blonde Abroad is the first blog I will check each morning since Kiersten is always uploading new, fresh content.
Helene in Between – A more recent discovery of mine is Helene in Between. I originally came across her blog looking for website advice, Instagram tips and tricks, and overall blogging help. Let me just say, she has changed the game for me. This is the most important blog that you need in your life if you plan on boosting your followers on social media and the like. And, her writing style is extremely entertaining. Overall, this girl deserves 17,098 gold stars in my book. She recently moved to Germany with her husband and two dogs {literally #lifegoals right here}, and I can’t wait to follow her while she travels around Europe and beyond. You can expect high quality information in every post. I just can’t give this girl enough praise, lemme tell ya.
Polkadot Passport – Just go look at her blog. Go, now. I’ll wait. YOU’RE WELCOME! I have only the best things to say about what Nicola has done with her platform. She produces some of the best content in the blogosphere and I have spent hours getting lost within the pages of her website. Like, hours. Her Instagram should be enough to convince you. She has destination guides, itineraries, and lists for days! Which, as travel junkies, we all love. Her blog ‘has recently won the silver award for best upcoming travel blogger at TBC Asia 2016 and has been featured on the likes of the Daily Mail, Lonely Planet, Matador Network, and Huffington Post’.
My Life is a Movie – Alyssa is the author and creator of My Life is a Movie, and is also the most badass chick you’ll ever follow. She gives zero fucks, and has a hilarious sense of humor. Talk about honest! She is also the queen at taking “back-of-the-head” selfies using her GoPro. This girl is the reason I am purchasing a GoPro this year. And you should most definitely be following her journey around the world. She is currently en route to visit each of the seven natural wonders of the world!
We Are Travel Girls – Founded by Becky van Dijk and Vanessa Rivers, We Are Travel Girls showcases travel tips, stories, and reviews from female travel bloggers worldwide. This means, the founders get to choose the best of the best out on the internet, and only produce quality blog posts on their website. WATG take pride in what they do, and support other females in the business. It is easy to contribute any number of stories {speaking of which I need to finish editing mine…} If you are looking for inspiration in any form, WATG is the place to turn to. From ‘Most Photogenic Spots in Cape Town” to “9 Epic Places to Stay in Bali Based on Your Travel Personality”, you will never run out of browsing content.
Girl vs Globe – There is a good chance you are already following Girl vs Globe on some form of social media. I mean, have you seen her photos!? Bomb. In addition to her amazing images splayed across her blog, Sabina has quality information on travel, fashion, and food. And she has been everywhere, guys. And has great information to share. Sabina recently published a post explaining her concern for the way she has been travelling, claiming it is environmentally harming {as most travel tends to be}. She has made the decision to attempt to travel in an eco-friendly way. Girl vs Globe has been featured in The Huffington Post, Lonely Planet, and Trip Advisor to name a few. It’s just the best, okay? Okay.
Spicy Daises – Spicy Daises holds a more personal place in my life than any other travel blog that I follow. The founder, Sarah, is one of my best humans. I have shared many travel memories with her and I can tell you she is absolutely fabulous at reiterating them via her writing. Her photos are always on point, and yet each one is taken on her iPhone. She makes life seem effortless and light, and this is portrayed in every blog post. She is a true environmentalist and promotes this on her blog as well, sharing recipes for plastic-free DIY shampoo, etc.
Hippie In Heels – Another Rachel who left her career in the states to travel the world. Now living in India, she has spent the last three years as an expat. This has been in attempt to bring the safer, more welcoming side of India to light for all of those hesitant female travelers. She has plenty of stories {both hilarious and unsettling} that she shares about her new home. But Rachel is a very well-traveled women who can offer a lot to any travel destination. Rachel keeps you engaged with her writing so it’s not surprising that she has been featured in The Huffington Post, ELLE Magazine, Lonely Planet, and Trip Advisor.
